After many years of being a music/guitar fan and having the pleasure of listening to my dad play, I finally became determined enough to pick up a guitar and take lessons w/ Sid a little more than a year ago. Throughout that time, I have progressed to a point that I did not anticipate reaching so quickly while understanding that there is still tremendous room to grow. Although I am aware that there remains a vast array of guitar skill and knowledge that I hope to learn, Sid makes me excited and optimistic about my “journey.” In addition to Sid’s physical and technical training on the guitar, there are philosophical and psychological components to his instruction that aim to inspire you to find the creativity in your heart. It appears that Sid truly takes pride in watching his students progress with the knowledge that he is a prominent reason for their progression. He continues to encourage while being real and fair with his critique. I personally appreciate the honesty in his critique because it means more when I achieve a goal that is up to his high standards.
