I sat down with Sid for my first lesson and I could feel almost immediately his passion for teaching/sharing decades of his knowledge, experience and expertise in the art of playing the guitar. For months I sat for hours and pieced together youtube instructional videos and bought every guitar app trying to learn how to play the guitar. After realizing i needed a real teacher, I found Sid on google and booked a lesson. My expectations were far and away surpassed. Sid teaches the basic skillsets, fundamentals and techniques that have helped me start playing real music with my guitar. (electric) Sid is an encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to manipulating sounds with an amp and a guitar. He is continuously searching for ways to refine not only his own playing techniques, but more importantly his teaching techniques so that you can learn more effectively and efficiently. I then began looking for a guitar teacher in the Greater New Orleans area, and after a lengthy search, got in contact with Sid. In less than a year with Sid, I have seen significant improvement in my playing. It helps a great deal to have an awesome instructor who is very knowledgeable and extremely patient. Sid’s lesson plans are tailored to what I want to learn, and the music that we work on covers all the techniques that are necessary to improve my skills. Sid will touch on theory during the lesson to help the student understand the structure behind what he is teaching without getting the student in way over his head. Now, almost a year later, I have surpassed all of my friends, people my age who had been playing for years before I even started. Besides being an excellent teacher, Sid is also a mentor and a friend, with wisdom and knowledge that applies to not only guitar, but also life: things like perseverance, taking action instead of procrastination, patience, long-term goals, etc. The bottom line is, if you are serious about playing the guitar, and are willing to put in the hours of practice, Sid is the only teacher you will ever need, and he will give you everything you need to become just as good as him, if not better.

Sid has a great approach in building your tool box with the basic techniques and theory, and then putting it all together. He's easy to work with, encouraging, and engaging, and works with you to accomplish YOUR goals, not just a pre-set lesson plan. Something I've found unique and very helpful is that at the end of each lesson, he records video summaries of the concepts and techniques you practiced, so that you can play them back at home during your own practice time to refresh and reinforce what you're working on. Overall, in just a short time, he's made playing guitar fun and rewarding for the first time in a long time. Highly recommended to anyone of any age, regardless of skill level.

Best of all, he concludes the lessons with a personalized video so that I can review that video at home. This is essential because it means I don't have to take a bunch of notes during the lesson (I can actually focus on Sid), and home practice becomes much easier. I have tried other guitar teachers, Sid is the best by far. Highest recommendation!
